Acupuncture and shiatsu

Most Dutch health insurers reimburse acupuncture and shiatsu fully or partly from supplementary insurance, usually without affecting your deductible. Zorgwijzer keeps up-to-date overviews per insurer (in Dutch) for acupuncture and shiatsu.

Please note: insurers change their conditions regularly. If you want to be sure of your reimbursement, check with your insurer beforehand what you are entitled to.

Mensendieck and physiotherapy

A physiotherapy or Mensendieck exercise therapy session takes half an hour and costs € 40. A combined session with acupuncture or shiatsu takes an hour and costs € 80.

We choose to work without contracts with health insurers. This means you pay us directly and claim the invoice yourself from your insurer. All Dutch health insurers reimburse physiotherapy and exercise therapy fully or partly if you have supplementary insurance that covers these treatments. Because we have no contracts, many insurers reimburse part of the fee, for example 75% or a fixed amount per session. For reimbursement from supplementary insurance you do not have to pay your deductible first. Your policy states the exact reimbursement, or you can ask your insurer beforehand.

For osteoarthritis of the hip or knee, rheumatoid arthritis with severe limitations, and conditions on the government’s list of chronic conditions, Dutch basic insurance also covers (part of) the treatment, even without supplementary insurance. Here you do pay your deductible first.

Cancellation

Your appointment is reserved for you. If you cannot come, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled later or missed are charged, because the time was reserved especially for you. This applies whatever the reason, for example also if you forgot the appointment, mixed up the time, are stuck in traffic, have to work late, or if you or your child is ill. If you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, there is no charge.
